Hyatt Place Tampa Downtown

This hotel ran smoothly and was clean. The beds were very comfortable. The young woman who checked us in wasn't all that helpful or friendly, but all the rest of the people we spoke with during our four-night stay were helpful and friendly. The original person we spoke with when we checked in did not recognize us as World of Hyatt members or offer the bottled water, etc., but the other people working the front desk were very friendly and helpful. We liked that they had a time period that they requested everyone keep quiet during the evening and morning hours!

This one was one of the cleanest hotel I’ve been is States. Rooms are very nice and clean. We stayed here during the Christmas Day, most of the time staff is not happy when they work through Christmas. It was not the case here. The staff was very friendly especially Donald at the front seat. He was very funny and welcoming. We were very pleased with our stay and definetly staying again when we come to Tampa.

Fabulous gem in downtown, close to everything. Fabulous room with killer views floor to ceiling windows overlooking city and waterfront. Bed comfortable, great big shower and bathroom. Had kitchen and fridge with separate ice compartment. Glass wine glasses. Fantastic free breakfast, not just simple breakfast bar. Many choices, hot, tasty and fresh. Just overly impressed with entire hotel and amenities. Stayed at several other hotels in downtown but this one was the absolute best. Valet parking not overly expensive. Staff very friendly. Only suggestion is another mirror in dressing area, as bathroom has single sink, so tough for two of us to get dressed quickly.

Do not stay here unless you enjoy having your car damaged and then being given the middle finger. When you arrive, you are forced to valet, as there are no other reasonable parking alternatives. When you drop your car off with the valet, a young kid in their teens or twenties will "park" your car. As your car enters the parking garage, you will hear tires squealing. And you will notice paint transfer from other vehicles on the posts and walls in front of the hotel. When you observe fresh damage to your vehicle and report it, they will not step up and accept responsibility. Instead, they will hide behind a clause on the valet ticket that essentially says they are not responsible for any damage. I really had no other problem with the place, but you definitely do not want to stay there if you are driving your own vehicle or a rental vehicle.

Downfall you have to pay for parking $38 PER day. Overall though the stay was very pleasant, clean room, professional nice staff, & their breakfast was delicious, many options like biscuits & gravy (was SO good), sausage, bacon, eggs, fruit, grits, oatmeal, hash browns, bagels, cereal, french toast & etc… I definitely recommend this hotel. :-)
